Kimbosue's Blog has MOOOOOVED!

**As of November 9, 2009, please find me at my new home below.**

Some posts are pw protected, so for the super secret decoder pen....ahem... code, please email me at kimbosue2 AT hotmail DOT com.

This blog will remain open. The link is still tied to lots of IF blogs, groups, and websites. I hope someone can read through my journey and find hope and strength and know that there is a light at the end of the IF tunnel. Prayer is the key! I love all my IF girlies I met along the way, and I hope to keep your friendships going forward during this next chapter of Mommyhood. I hope to see you there!

Pantries & Parties

So the weekend came and went. D had a band competition at Alvin CC. He got to see a bunch of old music dudes he hadn't seen in a while. Meanwhile, I cleaned the house like maniac and reorganized the pantry. It had been yelling at me for about a month. I was literally having to dig through stuff to find anything! It looks all cutie now with baskets and labels!

We went to a surprise bday party for a friend on Saturday night at Star Pizza. It was a total surprise for him! Then we went out to a new 80's club called Etro. It was pretty fun as well. Sunday, we slept in and D smoked a brisket all day for dinner. It was YUM-O! I went to a Home Interiors party with mom. I hadn't been to one in a few years and it was at an old friend's house (both the hostess, the seller and the seller's sister). It was nice to see them again after all these years. And if you're interested in buying something, check out her website: Home Interiors & Gifts

Guess what? AF has arrived! Dr. H said a few days after I quit the estrogen and progesterone that she would show up. I didn't believe him. Only because 4/6 months she never came! So on to more CD3 b/w on Wednesday!

Grateful for:

  • AF arriving in a timely manner
  • Bunko is tomorrow!
  • Peanut butter chocolate banana cream pie - I made this for my pg friend last week to take to her while she's at home on bedrest. I only had 1 piece and left the rest for her. I wish I would have made 2! I will definitely be making it again soon!

Yesterday was a GOOD Day!

For 5 reasons...

Reason #1. Grandma got out of the hospital and is back at her Alzheimer's facility. No pneumonia!

Reason #2. I had my follow-up appointment with the RE yesterday. He confirmed (through methods we'll leave to the imagination) that the cyst is gone. YEAH! Also, I am to stop taking BCP immediately. Hopefully, he says, this will also make AF stop the flowin'. Also, husband's swimmer analysis results are in...

Count: 11.6 MILLION Motility: 25% Morphology: 4%

Side note: When I got home, I posted this SA report on the fridge, you know like some of you do with your kids' report cards? I was just so proud of him and his great counts thanks to his Proxeed supplements!! :) :) :)

Doc says the morphology is kind of low, but with the increased count and with the "wash" they do beforehand - his numbers are FABULOUS!!! On Thursday, I am scheduled to go back for some lab work and then on Saturday...We start our first Clomid cycle! This will be taken on Days 5-9 of the cycle. Then we'll go for more labs and confirm if I'm ovulating and then...........**DRUM ROLL PLEASE** We go for our insemenination!! YAHOO!! Also, since my insurance does not have fertility coverage, we had to pay for the Clomid cycle and the insemination-to-be yesterday. I was headed to check out and doc said to ask for Anna when I got there. HUH?

Me: "OK - can I speak to Anna? "

Checkout lady: "Oh have a seat right there maa'm. She'll be right with you."

Anna's office door sign reads "Financial Aid Office" EEKS! Luckily, if we paid for all of it then, we would get a 20% discount, whereas had we opted for the payment plan - no discount. So, we're all paid up!

Reason #3. Our Short Term Incentive Plan (STIP)/Bonus numbers were announced at work. This is the first company I have worked for that have paid bonuses so I am WAY excited no matter what the $$ amount is that is paid out. But let's just say...if we have to go the IVF method, we'll have all the money we need!

Reason #4. Our homemade wine made it to Day 14 and has now been transferred into its new home. She is resting quietly in the wine rack, which will be her home for the next 6 months. Notice the Man Tool of choice for the vigorous stirring required? Yes, that would be RYOBI!
Reason #5. The outdoor kitchen is complete!

Just Monday...

Saturday was icky weather so we knew there wouldn't be any progress made on the BBQ pit. Instead we went out for breakfast, bought a new digital camera (smaller, slimmer for going in pockets) with a gift certificate I got from work. Then we bought hyacinths for the front yard and some stuff for the garden - celebrity tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, green, yellow and red bell peppers, lavender, chives and spearmint. We still had parsley, basil, thyme, and rosemary from last year's crop. More to come there with pics too!

So the period has yet to stop since 02/03...UGH - it's like it's the first day all over again with the flow and the cramping! YUCK! Did I say how much I love to be a woman? I finally got a hold of the RE again about the problem. He said to double up on the BCP and I have an appointment next Monday to check out the cyst and make for sure the meds are doing the trick.

Funny - I was just reading the post from when AF started and I was so happy to see her. Now I only want to see her GO AWAY!!

Pray for no more cyst and more swimmers - Husband's going for a checkup in about 2 weeks!

Doctor Visit Tomorrow

I called the RE this morning to give him the good news - yeah AF is here! I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon. They will be doing an ultrasound and more bloodwork to verify my hormone levels are where they should be during the cycle. YIPEE - an u/s while AF is here. That is so GROSS on so many levels...Oh well. One more step towards our goal, I suppose. Updates on that tomorrow.

AF and Super Bowl are finally here!

I never thought I'd see the day when I actually wanted my monthly cycle to get here, but since I took the last of the meds Wednesday night, I have been anxiously awaiting Aunt Flo's arrival. I helped move my friend into her first apartment (YEAH!!!) Friday and Saturday and just knew it was going to happen at the most inopportune moment. EESH. Thankfully that didn't happen.

We got her moved in without a hitch. We even set up her massive waterbed, organized her kitchen and bathroom for her. basically all she has to do is give it her own special touch and she's ready to relax in her new home sweet home. Can't wait for the first get together in the new digs!

The outdoor kitchen is almost complete. All we have left to do is put river rock on the bottom, and mosaic tile the countertop. Do you know how hard it is to find a variety of colors in small ceramic tile? We went to 4 stores. The only colors they have a blue and black. Since the rock will be mainly gray, we want something with color to "pop" on the counter. The lady at Lowe's told us of 2 more places to look. Pics coming soon.

I'm off to the store to get stuff for dessert we're taking to our friends to watch the Super Bowl. They are little mini footballs!! Hope everyone has a good Super Bowl Sunday...
