Fewer sniffles and coughs today. I finally made it back into the office yesterday. Geez. How does my dear husband work from home ALL the time? 1 week and 2 days was way too long for me. Although I did get my fill of baby shows in - Baby Story, Birth Day, Baby Diaries, Special Delivery, and probably way, WAY too many that showed emergency births or what could go wrong. And can I just say that even though TLC/DHC blur out the hoo-hoo shots, what you see coming OUT of the hoo-hoo made me want to throw up on the spot. I know the placenta has to come out, but all that other crap and fluid too? G.R.O.S.S.
I am missing my weekly photo op with Peanut this week. Dr. H wanted to skip this week and come in at 11 weeks.
A few questions...
- For those of you have who already graduated to your OB, did you miss those weekly u/s pics from your RE?
- Did your OB understand and give you pics and u/s anyway at every appointment?
- Did you rent/buy/borrow a Doppler to get you through the "hard times?"
- If so on the Doppler, where did you get it from? I found some place called StorkRadio.com.
Thanks in advance for the info!
3 nice things to say...:
I never watch those baby shows. They always piss me off.
1. For those of you have who already graduated to your OB, did you miss those weekly u/s pics from your RE?
-- Of course. It's hard to just let nature take it's course and not monitor it, but my first 2 babies were only with an OB and I never saw them before 20 weeks, so I just loved the RE, but the OB experience was also normal for me.
Did your OB understand and give you pics and u/s anyway at every appointment?
-- heh. No. My OB hasn't done any u/s except the NT test and big u/s.
Did you rent/buy/borrow a Doppler to get you through the "hard times?"
-- oh yes. I use it up through delivery because when the baby doesn't move at 39 weeks, it's scary.
If so on the Doppler, where did you get it from? I found some place called StorkRadio.com.
-- I don't like storkRadio, as their dopplers aren't that strong, so makes it harder to hear at first. I get mine from babyFM.com
No, sadly the OB only does 2 ultra sounds and you will most likely only get one because the first one is done around 7/8 weeks. Sorry! My big one is in 4 weeks. I can't wait.
So glad you are feeling better. Everytime I watch the baby shows I feel like I should be clocked in and working. It's funny, for the most part,as a clinician, you do get used to the blood and fluid "gush" with delivery. That's why we wear tall booties. OB probably won't U/S you unless clinically indicated which means likely no more weekly peeks, but that's a good thing ala normal pregnancy. Re.dopplers were unheard of when I had the boys, but if it will give you some reassurance, go for it. Thanks for the update, ((Hugs))
